Hamlet & Wilbur Farms Visitor Rules
If you are visiting our farm, we have some common sense visitor rules in place to keep our animals, pastures and visitors safe. Our farm is a semi bio-secure farm meaning that only approved staff have access to our animals, our pigs. To minimize the risk of disease and help keep everyone safe and healthy, we have some common sense rules on our farm that everyone must comply with.
– Please leave your pets and livestock at home. No dogs, cats, snakes, hamsters, birds, cows, chickens, sheep, goats, etc. are allowed to visit our farm. For the integrity and safety of our animals, we do not allow outside animals.
– Our farm is a strict non-smoking environment for guests as we do not have a designated area for you. No Cigarettes, Pipes, Vaping, or Cannabis smoking allowed on site.
– The consumption of alcohol is prohibited.
– Parking is limited, pre-booking for any and all visits required. Be sure to check out where you can find our products locally.
– If you are wanting to purchase products and just pick them up at our farm, you can do so through our online store and select pickup as the shipping option. Merchandise pickup time slots must be followed.
– Closed toed shoes or boots with socks are strongly recommended when visiting our farm. We do NOT recommend the wearing of sandals, flip flops or any open toed shoe. This is a farm, you never know what you might step into and we can’t guarantee the grounds will be dry where you might walk.
– No Outside food allowed on the farm as we don’t want our 4 legged friends to get a hold of it. All of our animals are on strict healthy diets and your tasty snacks are not for them.
– Children MUST BE closely supervised by an adult at ALL times. This is one of our most important visitor rules because we want everyone to be safe at all times.
– Move slowly and quietly when near any of our animals
– Animals can bite and nibble innocently if they think you have food so be very cautious and keep your hands away from their heads and mouths
– Do NOT climb fences, gates, or barriers
– Always close a gate behind you so animals don’t get out
– Do NOT climb on stacked hay or straw as it is always considered unstable
– Please do not litter, dispose of it properly in one of the garbage receptacles available on the property
– Visitor Rules for Safety: It is very important to stay away from our perimeter fencing as it is barbed wire to keep our neighbours cattle contained. This fencing can hurt if you get your hands caught on the barbs. Please keep your distance from our perimeter fencing.
– Visitor Rules for Health Safety: We always recommend you wash your hands before visiting and after leaving our farm as it is very important in the farm environment to keep your hands clean and sanitized. Farms are a “dirty” environment so please use soap and water after you visit us to clean up.
Thank you very much for complying with our farm visitor rules, it keeps everyone safe and happy! We at Hamlet & Wilbur Farms accept no responsibility for any mishaps on your visit to our farm. Our visitor rules when followed will allow you to have a safe visit to our farm. Visiting our farm is done completely at your own risk. Please review our rules with your children before attending our farm.
